The Blueprint Unveiled
Let’s rewind a bit to 2017 when The Blueprint was just a tiny seed. Back then, each idea was safe—encapsulated in the cocoon of my mind where the characters grew from sketches to fully realized. Fast forward through countless late nights, endless revisions, and a rollercoaster of emotions, and here we are in 2024, on the eve of unleashing this story into the world.
The journey to this moment has been nothing short of challenging. From confronting the uncomfortable truths woven into the fabric of my narrative, to navigating the complexities of the publishing industry, there were moments when I questioned whether I’d ever reach this milestone. But through it all, I was led by the voice that told me to keep going. Sometimes, it was a whisper that I could only hear when I was still, when I was learning, when I was writing.
As I prepare for the release of The Blueprint, I’m reminded of the advice I’ve received along the way: Learn to weather the storms of rejection, relinquish control over the creative process, and let each lesson shape you. I take it all with me as I lean forward.
But perhaps the most important lesson of all is that storytelling is a collaborative effort. It’s about sharing our experiences, our struggles, and our triumphs, creating connections that transcend it all.
I’d say grateful if I had to sum all my emotions into one word.
Grateful for the team who believed in the power of this story and helped bring it to life. Grateful for the readers, especially the Bookstagrammers who were first to show me images of my heartswork in hands other than mine. They DM’d their questions, thoughts, and enthusiasm.
My heart…
The symbolism…
The characters feel human…
How did you feel when you wrote chapter…
How did you come up with your character names?
Strange, but even after years of writing and going through the publication process, those conversations made it click—you’re a writer. You’re a writer.
The Blueprint is more than just a novel to me. It’s a testament to the resilience of the human spirit, a mirror reflecting the complexities of our society, and a reminder that even in the darkest of times, there is always hope.
So here’s to my debut and the countless stories yet to be told. May they inspire, provoke, and ignite conversations that challenge the status quo and pave the way for a brighter, more inclusive future.
